Louise Visser studied Classics and Medieval Studies in Groningen (MA) and then moved to Belgium to work with the Centre for the Historiography of Linguistics at the KU Leuven. There she studied Latin grammar texts from 400 to 900 AD and obtained her PhD in 2010. Language learning is one of her passions, but her interests are wide-ranging across the humanities. She started her career in publishing at Brepols Publishers and moved to AUP in 2014. She is responsible for the Languages and Culture in History series and the Amsterdam Archaeological Studies, and is Managing Editor for AUP’s academic and educational publications.
