The next Redux Conference is being held in the beautiful city of Cambridge from 17-18 March at Churchill College.
Vanessa de Bueger, Sales and Marketing Director Amsterdam University Press, will be speaking alongside Andrew Lockett, University of Westminster Press and Mithu Lucraft, Springer Nature.
Amsterdam University Press (AUP) is a longstanding supporter of Open Access publishing and it was involved in the development of the OAPEN Foundation ten years ago. AUP now publishes ten OA journals, and on average fifteen of the 150 monographs it publishes every year are made available open access online, marketed internationally and disseminated through a growing number of OA platforms. Building on this foundation, AUP is pro-active in improving and measuring the discoverability of their material through enhancing both metadata and its relationships with platforms, publishers and authors – crucial in a world of sought-after data metrics, Plan S and ongoing financial and technological challenges. This presentation will show the range of activities deployed by AUP to ensure their OA books are highly visible in their publishing mix, and in order to meet author and funder expectations and to build AUP's position as supporter of OA.
