Historical Studies in Eastern Europe and Eurasia - CEU Press
The books in this series recognize and embody the importance of historical analysis and empirical knowledge in understanding the complexities and contradictions of this expansive region. Before it was fashionable, the editors have prioritized manuscripts that look at the borders and frontiers of the many states and peoples that populate Eastern Europe and Eurasia writ large, including the Baltic states, the Caucuses, and Central Asia. We seek sound, deeply researched monographs and wide-ranging representative collections of articles that ask questions about how the region and its conflicts have been contextualized, negotiated, and imagined over the centuries. Books that address economic, social and cultural life, reflect upon significant historical moments and movements, and explore transregional relations and continuities are especially welcome. The editors value accessible prose and aim to attract authors who appreciate knowledgeable editing and marketing to interested scholars and readers.
