Het gedragsveranderingswiel is een praktisch handboek voor het ontwerpen en evalueren van interventies en beleidsmaatregelen voor gedragsverandering. Centraal in dit boek staat het gedragsveranderingswiel (Behaviour Change Wheel), een synthese van negentien gedragsveranderingsraamwerken die gebruikmaken van een breed scala aan disciplines en benaderingen. Dit handboek is geschreven voor beleidsmakers, interventieontwerpers, onderzoekers en professionals. Het introduceert een systematische, op theorie gebaseerde methode om te komen tot effectieve gedragsinterventies.

De auteurs, professor Susan Michie - een wereldautoriteit op het gebied van gedragsverandering, dr. Lou Atkins - onderzoeker aan Centre for Behaviour Change aan het University College London (UCL), en professor Robert West - een internationaal gerenommeerde expert op het gebied van roken en verslaving, begeleiden je door elke stap.

De Nederlandse vertaling is gemaakt met redactie van Hanneke Goosen, Koen van 't Hof en Sumit Mehra. Zij werken als docent bij de opleiding Toegepaste Psychologie aan de Hogeschool van Amsterdam. Susan Michie

Susan Michie is Professor of Health Psychology and Director of the Centre for Behaviour Change (www.ucl.ac.uk/behaviour-change/) and of the Health Psychology Research Group at University College London, UK. Professor Michie has been a key player in advancing behavioural science and its application to the prevention and management of ill health and the delivery of quality health services, and regularly contributes to national and international policy work.

Lou Atkins

Lou Atkins PhD is a researcher, trainer and consultant in behaviour change intervention design and evaluation in health and environmental sustainability. Dr Atkins is an Associate Teaching Fellow of the Centre for Behaviour Change (University College London, UK) and a member of the Health Psychology Research Group at University College London.

Robert West

Robert West is Professor of Health Psychology and Director of the Tobacco and Alcohol Research Group at University College London, UK. He is also Editor-in-Chief of the journal, Addiction. He has authored more than 500 scientific works. He was co-founder of the NHS Stop-smoking Services and of the UK's National Centre for Smoking Cessation and Training. He is author of 'The SmokeFree Formula' (Orion) which aims to bring the science of stopping to smokers.
